Every day, institutions in the private and public sectors generate and collect large volumes of data. However, in many cases, reliable decision-making depends on the efficient and effective analysis of the fundamental data as well as on the creation of suitable models and evaluations. econcept provides support to institutions and organisations when it comes to working with their data, deploying solution-focused, quantitative survey and evaluation methods and developing tailor-made tools for the purpose. Our work in this area draws on our many years of experience in processing and programming complex data structures as well as our diverse expertise in the use of official statistics and administrative data.

We prepare data in a targeted manner and analyse it to answer the questions of interest. Depending on the nature of the data and the preferences of our clients, we use R, Python, QGIS or even Excel or Excel-VBA. We offer descriptive analyses, visualisations as well as various regression, cluster and classification procedures and advise our clients on the choice of method.

Quantitative Analyse zur Energieträgerwahl in fünf Schweizer Städten

econcept hat die Energieträgerwahl beim Heizungsersatz zwischen 2010 und 2018 in fünf Schweizer Städten analysiert. Dabei wurde ein Fokus auf die Verfügbarkeit der jeweiligen Energieträger sowie die Grösse der ersetzten Heizung gelegt.

    Analyse und Beurteilung der Prämienverbilligung

    Mit unseren Analysen konnten wir nachweisen, dass der Kanton Solothurn bei Prämienverbilligungen die für die obligatorische Grundversicherung bei Krankenkassen die bundesrechtlichen Vorgaben einhält und die anvisierten Zielgruppen unterstützt. Zusätzlich haben wir Tarifanpassungen zugunsten geringerer Fehlanreize und besserer Unterstützung geprüft.

We use geoinformation from different sources for spatial analyses and representations. We create customised maps and illustrations primarily with QGIS, which allows us to visualise various vector and raster data quickly and easily and to supplement them specifically with our own layers. When processing larger amounts of data, we use Python and R to efficiently perform the computationally intensive operations.
